Daystar University (DU)

About

Daystar University (DU) is a non-profit private liberal arts institution established in 1974 as Daystar Communications. Daystar’s education standards remain high as evidenced by the University’s graduates’ employability currently at 78% within one year of graduation, one of the highest rates in East Africa region. According to a 2014 tracer study conducted by the British Council, graduates from higher education institutions in Kenya can take, on average, five years to secure a job. The University has achieved this performance through developing quality programs highly informed by the needs of the labor market. The University Directorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies has grown over the years. In 2015, an Institutional Ethical Review Board (ERB) was established to conduct ethics reviews of Research Protocols in Social and Behavioural Science. The University has created effective networks with different stakeholders including the government at both national and county level, local and international NGOs as well as private sector. The University combines impressive modern facilities and a dynamic learner-centred approach to teaching and research.
